Letting Go
How does one let go of the body that served them so well,
that danced and sang, played, explored, and reveled in every sensation, in every new discovery,
as it was so miraculously growing, expanding,
and coming into awareness of its light and oneness of being?
...the final attachment, this body.
How does one detach from it in the midst of the ego’s tug of war,
the ego that grips the rope, white knuckles for control, slips and slips again,
and faces a slow and perpetual loss of the fight.
How does one let go of the body?
In the same way we learned to live in it so fully,
in gratitude for every experience,
in gratitude for its facilitating our souls for a time,
and gently,
in honor of the temple that it is,
begin extending gratitude for new growth,
new expansion and awareness,
for the gifts of this life,
for clarity,
and for the slowly rising wisdom that compels us homeward
and replaces the rope with a knowing,
untethering us from the struggle,
not by prying our hands, one stiff finger at a time, from the fibers,
not by letting us fall in the mud so we can stress and strain to pull ourselves back up again,
but by offering us glimpses of truth,
a sacred invitation to open eyes and heart
and witness the rope dissipate into never was,
into the all is well,
where pure being rests in oneness without need,
in flow with all that is,
and needs let go of nothing.

Such wisdom, Charlee. Thank you.
Charlee, beautiful words from a beautiful soul. Sending much love to you from afar.
